Christmas Gifts for Kids

End of a year and the beginning of another! And here it comes, Christmas, Jingle all the way! Christmas bring glad tidings for everyone. Nothing beats the cheer in the air! Christmas is celebrated with great enthusiasm and cheer throughout the whole world. Also known as the Holiday season, Christmas is characterized by the singing of carols, the prepa`ration of cakes and cookies, feasting and dining, and the decorations that adorn homes and houses. The Christmas Tree is another prominent fixture of all the festivities. Usually made from pine trees, some other popular holiday plants associated with it, include the poinsettia, holly, mistletoe, red amaryllis, and the Christmas cactus. The trees are decorated with bright lights and ornaments such as figure of angels, bells, candles, bright-colored polythene sheets, candy sticks, stockings, wreaths and garlands. The exterior of houses are also decorated with shiny stars hanging from well lit-up cielings and the roof tops; and sometimes with Christmas Villages, artificial snow and snowmen, illuminated sleighs and other Christmas figures.

It is also characterized with greeting cards, and the exchange of gifts and presents amongst friends and families. A time to share our joys, a time of laughter, a time of renewal, a time of growth, a time to sing, a time to dance, a time for love; and what better way is there to show it and spread the cheer with something for the kids. The tradition for Christmas Gifts began with the “Three Kings from the East”, who travelled to Bethlehem to offer gifts to the infant Jesus. Its roots can be traced back to “The Gifts from the Magi”, which was the first incidence of this tradition.

Today, the festival of Christmas is a wholesome gift-presentation extravaganza, and the most popular image associated with the exchange of gifts is Santa Claus or Father Christmas, a jolly character with a big body in a red suit and hat, and an overflowing white beard accompanied with a hearty laugh. Known by various names in different countries, he is primarily represented as a bringerof gifts. He is believed to stay in the North pole, where he and his Elves make toys the whole year round, and deliver them to children’s homes on christmas mornings. Christmas is more about gifts and presents especially for children. Now it is impossible to imagine Christmas without all the presents and gifts. Lighten up the their little faces, give them all the glee and the widest smiles. Remember our childhood days and how we used to anticipate Christmas mornings. We could just burst and die in the excitement of opening up our presents and gifts, under the tree and the mistletoes. Remember the wish-list we used to make, sending it to Father Christmas and waiting for him to come down the chimney and fill up the stockings. If they have been good boys then they will receive more! Children do believe in “Santa Claus, the Elves and Rudolph, the red-nosed Reindeer.” In all their innocence, we could still picture the glow and shine on our faces in our own days.

From the end of the month of october and the beginning of november, Town Centres and Shopping Malls are decorated like brides in customs and fineries. Nativity Scenes pop-ups are displayed on the sight-seeing windows and people in Santa Suits welcome customers on the entrances. There is always a heavy rush in the malls and shopping centers, with people scrabbling for the latest gifts and presents or the in-demand- things of the season. Prudent parents stock up their gifts much before this, while the desperate ones struggle and search for them in the understocked market.

Now don’t be a “Scrooge”and let the “Grinch Stole Christmas.” Dont disappoint your children, and gift them with the best items and christmas toys-hotlist of the season. Some of the stationery includes gift tags calling cars, personalised stickers, creative games and playsets, soft and cuddly stuffed animals, and characters from popular TV shows such as “Sesame Street.” There are various sites on the Internet that offer various Christmas gift for Kids.
